My early work consisted mostly of what I saw around my rural setting including old barns, fences and gravelly roads. It wasn’t until I painted “Road Home” where I discovered my love for a rather impressionistic style which led to the paintings “The Reeds”, “After The Harvest”, and “Crossing The Creek”.
It was my intrigue with drama, produced by technique that began a journey into color studies and resulted in “Sun Drenched” and "Old Friends". The drive for this experimenting with color and technique keeps me at my easels.
My passion continues with exploration of dramatizing ordinary settings and subjects with color and technique. While I haven't narrowed my genre to a specific category of subjects, one could say it would be my tendency towards a slightly impressionistic style with emphasized lighting and playful color.
My interest in art drew me to the local art organization Arts Alive! where I currently serve on the board and volunteer in the gallery.
